Democrats Accuse Russia Of Hacking DNC Server To Help Donald Trump [IMPORTANT INFO]
ZeroHedge ^ | July 24, 2016 | Tyler Durden

In the aftermath of the fallout from the DNC server hack, the Democrats have been scrambling how to redirect public anger (especially among Bernie Sanders supporters) from the revelations that not only did the Democratic party try everything in its power to sabotage Bernie Sanders presidential bid, but also colluded with various "impartial" media outlets as well as breach fundraising rules in the process.

And, as of this morning, it appears that the solution they have decided upon is not to explain or even justify the scandalous actions, but to simply blame Russia for the hack.

[SNIP]

Except... there is a problem with this "disturbing", if very amusing, tangent.

As The Hill reported, it wasn't some mysterious, Kremlin-based hacker/operator that provided the emails to Wikileaks. It was the Romanian hacker Guccifer 2.0 (not to be confused with the original Romanian hacker Guccifer, aka Marcel Lazar, who is currently in US custody and whose email revelations over a year ago unleashed the scandal involving Hillary's email server in the first place), well-known for previously leaked hundreds of internal DNC memos on his own website.

It is the same Guccifer 2.0 who, following allegations that he was working for Russia, conducted the following interview with Motherboard where he said the following:

Doesn’t matter who hacked the emails or that they released them if there wasn’t dirty deeds going on.

It’s the dirty deeds not the hacking. They are trying to divert attention from the democrat dirty deeds.

Yes, there is a war out there - a good reason as ever not to keep top secret information on an unsecured server!

Of course they are - but in the way they are doing it they 1) acknowledge that the documents are true 2) kills the meme that DJT is about to start WWIII against Russia 3) shows how easy information can be stolen from a relatively well secured server, and thus showing the danger of keeping secret information on an unsecured server.

It's pure speculation. They cite some unnamed experts who see metadata in the source documents that indicate a computer in Russia is involved in storing, serving or transmitting the contents.

You can bet the "speculation" will morph into fact by the MSM. And it is a distraction. The issue is the substance in the emails and whether they are authentic, not how they were unearthed. If there was no there there, it wouldn't matter how they were discovered.

What difference, at this point, does it make?

The emails are either true and legitimate, or false and illegitimate.

It doesn’t matter who provided them to the public.

The distraction will become the story. This is an old template, and it works - the press controls what it puts out.

Jennifer Granholm even drags Manafort in (by name), and says it is plausible that Manafort had a role in the hacking and leaking. "I have no proof," but here is an idea ...

Carol Costello says "even more people will be stepping down, but it will be after the convention." Hello! Wasserman Schultz only announced, she has not left her DNC role to do her new assignment doing the same job directly for Hillary.

Agree timing is everything, She will get the nomination on Tuesday and accept on Thursday, I assume like the GOP convention.

If that is the case, I would like the next dump to come out on Wednesday evening. It will give the GOP some time to go over them and comment before her acceptance speech. It could be one of the most embarrassing acceptance speeches of all time.

I guess you could wait until after the acceptance speech, but you would lose the audience numbers and the spectacle of a major party nominee accepting the nomination while the buzz in the MSM will be about the latest revelations, no matter how much in the tank they are for her. And the Bernie supporters at the convention would be going batsh*t as she accepts the nomination under a dark cloud. The convention would end on a downer, dispiriting note.

We can only hope that Assange lives up to his claim that he will release information on Hillary and the Clinton Foundation that will be grounds for indictment. Timing is everything.

It is the seriousness of the charge, not whether it is true or not.

Will the media fixate on the fictitious “Russian” angle to this story, or will the fixate on the actual content of the emails?

Answer: Russia made me do it.

They will of course stick with what they think will favour their candidate. And also they will not be too keen on airing their own dirty linen.

The Israelis may have known about the Russian hack of the DNC website, and done nothing about it. Relations between Israel and Russia have improved in the past couple of years. No doubt Netanyahu likes Putin better than Obama on a personal basis. Trump will be friendlier to Israel than Hillary Clinton would be, and would end American duplicity toward ISIS and Al-Qaida. Trump also would be less likely to try to impose the U.S. and NATO to exposure over Ukraine or the Baltic States. Both Netanyahu and Putin have an interest in dealing with Trump rather than the untrustworthy Hillary Clinton.

The Dimwits needs to blame the MESSAGE .... not the messenger!

It is pretty sad that Americans are now looking to Russia to “report” the truth instead of our own media.
