Patrick Fitzgerald had to cut short a major criminal investigation in Chicago when Gov Blajovich, Jesse Jackson jr and Barak Obama were trying to do something similar in 2008.
Fitzgerald had to move to shut things down before President Obama committed a felony before being sworn into office. Fitzgerald at the time called it " a felony in progress that was shut down before the president elect committed a felony".
Obama escaped prosecution thanks to Fitzgerald's swift intervention but Gov Rod Blagojevich and Jesse Jackson jr eventually went to jail.
