Sanders Calls for DNC Chair's Resignation as Hacked Emails Overshadow Democratic Convention

acked emails threatened to overshadow the Democratic Party's upcoming celebration in Philadelphia as progressives expressed disappointment Sunday over the presidential nomination process and Bernie Sanders stepped up demands that the party's chairwoman step down. Bitterness and frustration among the more progressive wing came after some 19,000 emails were published on the website Wikileaks that suggested the Democratic National Committee played favorites during the primary, when Sanders fell short against Hillary Clinton.

In one leaked email, a DNC official wondered whether Sanders' religious beliefs could be used against him, questioning whether the candidate may be an atheist.

In televised interviews Sunday, the Vermont senator said the emails proved what he knew was true: The DNC planned to support former Secretary of State Clinton from the start. "I'm not shocked, but I'm disappointed" by the exchanges in the emails, Sanders told ABC's "This Week." Sanders pressed for Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Fla., to quit as chairwoman immediately. He also suggested that Clinton's choice of running mate, Virginia Sen. Tim Kaine, was a disappointment and that he would have preferred Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren, a favorite of liberals.

And at least one Sanders' delegate said there was talk of protests during Kaine's acceptance speech. Norman Solomon, a delegate who supports Bernie Sanders, says there is talk among Sanders' delegates of walking out during Kaine's acceptance speech or turning their backs as a show of protest. Solomon said he believes a "vast majority" of Sanders delegates support these kinds of protests to express their dismay. Sanders' supporters say they are concerned that Kaine is not progressive enough. 5

More hacked e-mails hangs over the Democrat Convention like the Sword of Damocles.

Any Bernie supporter with any amount of self-respect can not vote for the Wicked Witch. Preferably, vote for Trump.

He should read his entire speech in Hebrew.

Dare them to cut him off.

Watch the colluding and corrupted Propaganda Ministry portray this convention as “unified and smoothly-running”.

Propaganda outlets (such as the Washington Post, the New York Times, NBC and ABC, and so on) do not care about their credibility.

Trump is smart to keep reaching out to Sanders supporters. He will peel off a certain percentage.

Has DWS made any statement about her emails? I looked, could not find one. Not sure if I missed it or she went dark.

Sanders should call for all the primaries to be null and void and open ballot at the convention....with no super delegates voting. But he won’t. DWS, along with some email writers, will be the only ones thrown under the bus.

TO the extent that Bernie is not a Democrat, but only caucuses with the Democrats and ran in the Democrat primaries, Watzername-Schultz was within her rights as DNC chairman to try to undermine his running vs an actual Democrat.

BUT I am enjoying every second of her and the Ds discomfort.

Sanders is an a$$wipe. DWS has been on the way out for quite some time, it's not a secret and has been in the new rotation for quite some time.

BernTard himself calls for her ouster is the most massive douche maneuver he could pull and proves he was in on the whole thing from the beginning, like the tool that he is.

The problem is that it leaked out (remember the moles...er.. part of the team)... otherwise they'd have had him out on the trail in the near future to get the freaks and geeks back on the DNC reservation.

I figure Sanders was in it to win it but he wanted to do it gingerly as to not offend the Beast too much or the machine.
he was banking on the FBI to take her down but when that failed he gave up. The old man is prolly relieved plus he got a few more stash $$ out of the foray. He’s the most Dependent Independent DemoRat that ever was.. No way he disavows— he will give lip service to a perceived injustice and pull a Comey.

Hmm...news yesterday was that Bernie scheduled a meeting with his delegates an hour before the convention opens...in another location. I'd be willing to bet the original purpose was to tell them to shut up and fall in line like he has, party solidarity, power to the people and all that crap.

Now these emails put a slightly different complexion on the affair. There is outrage - Bernie's people are far more Internet-savvy than Hillary's base, and so haven't been cut out by the media stonewall - and a concession other than the Clinton Foundation cash that is rattling in Bernie's pockets is probably called for.

He has called for DWS to resign and she almost certainly will; she's already been excised from the convention speaking list. But that may not be enough to assuage tender feelings on the part of the Feel The Bern crowd. Lots more collusion than just DWS.

There are several intriguing possibilities. That meeting may become the seed of a march on the convention center or even an outright boycott/rebellion. It is more likely to be a sounding board of protest safely isolated from media eyes at convention hall. There seems little doubt that Bernie himself is bought and paid for, and an honest politician is one who stays bought. And so other concessions may be in order: platform planks, positions within the DNC, adoption of one or more of Bernie's signature positions. Were there enough cash in the Clinton Foundation coffers it would be outright bribery, but not all of Bernie's people are for sale. This one is getting very interesting, and there are more leaks to come.

The Sanders people will be allowed their little tantrum for the appearance of righteous indignation, but will fall back into line before too long, like the good little marxists they are

Although the leak may be unexpected, it was long discussed that Wasserman would be sacrificed to appease the Bernouts. The rank and file Bernouts are the stupidest of the millennials and will buy into whatever lies Hillary feeds them, and nobody is going to critique her vacuous promises to them.
