I think the GOPe is fully aware of the corruption, and has been fine with it as long as the leadership got a cut.
The GOPe envied the Witch and did its level best to accomplish the same thing with Jebbie. However it ran into a small problem: The GOP base that it had screwed over for the last ten years or so and that wasn’t going to stand for it any more.
