Oh wow! My husband was a major Lionel Train enthusiast... He had a beautiful layout and he and the boys spent hours running the trains, building mountains, placing just the right landscape! They have many fond memories of those times. “My train” was The Blue Comet. I still have it in a box.

One of the great fraternity pranks involved the Lionel logo.
Back in the Eighties, a fraternity painted the Lionel logo with the Lionel official colors on a commuter railroad bridge in the Philadelphia suburb of Bryn Mawr just a block away from the station. It was so good that the owner of the line, Amtrak, did not paint it over, but kept it preserved in pristine condition. Some pranks are for the ages.
