He may have - I don’t remember Obama’s call for that... I do however, very well remember Peanut Carter’s “fireside chat” TV speech with him in a sweater extolling the virtues of low thermostat settings and cold homes because as President he was not smart or courageous enough to do anything at all about the OPEC oil embargo. Carter was pathetic, stupid, and malaise inducing. Obama, Kerry, and Clinton are just evil.

Yeah, he did. I looked it up after posting. In the campaign, he made a statement along the lines of:

"We can’t drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times … and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK."

Then, on his FIRST FULL DAY in the Oval Office, he was seen not wearing a suit jacket, and he had turned the heat up on a day where it was so cold that his children's school was closed.

Here's a quote from a report at the time:

"He’s from Hawaii, O.K.?" said Mr. Obama’s senior adviser, David Axelrod, who occupies the small but strategically located office next door to his boss. "He likes it warm. You could grow orchids in there."
