The Democratic Rules Committee voted down an effort to abolish the role of unbound superdelegates, dealing a blow to Bernie Sanders supporters, many of whom see the superdelegate system as unfair.

An amendment failed before the committee Saturday by a vote of 108-58.

The amendment received vocal support during discussion from several people who characterized the superdelegate system as "undemocratic" and contrary to the principle of "one person, one vote."

"Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (Texas) said that the superdelegate system has provided more opportunity and diversity.

"I am fully aware of those who have concerns about the superdelegate process," she said. "But I am also aware of the issues of diversity and the balance that the superdelegates have given."

Paid off to say that? Lee is a party stooge.

Superdelegates leave the elite in charge. So with the dimoKKKRAT party the elite are still very much in control.

These super delegates are all politicians. Hillary snuck around for a whole year before the primaries gathering them up.....about 450 of them. They will all be rewarded if she wins. It’s the Dem way.

The difference here is that Trump was able to force the GOPe to yield, wereas Bernie faced an insurmountable “stacked deck.” So now, the Republican Party actually has a chance to survive, while the RATs continue to sink like turds down at the treatment plant!

The amendment received enough support for it to go before the full convention. Hopefully, the Bernie supporters put up one Hell of a fight.

That is good news. That should make for an entertaining night. The media sure pushed the Cruz floor delegate fight. They also pushed that Unruh babe. Lets see what the media with do with this. I bet is try to tamper it down.

“many of whom see the superdelegate system as unfair.”

Many of whom? How about ALL. The superdelegate system is unfair and undemocratic by definition. Everyone knows it’s unfair.

Sanders supporters are getting NOTHING. They’ve been abandoned and Sanders doesn’t seem to give a damn. He got a few feel-good issues that will be ignored in the platform. I can’t imagine why they’d vote for Hillary, the way they’ve been treated.

Probably the same reason most of the Republican runner-ups did. They see party unity and beating the opposition as more of a priority.

For the Democrats, there is no rule of law, no accountability or fair play. It is Communism pure and simple. The party is everything and party leaders decide.

It seems they now have a compromise in place that will reduce the number of superdelegates. Not sure if it means this convention, or future conventions.

Kind of compromise that doesn’t change anything.

And no promise superdelegates will actually be reduced.

Sanders' a pussy.

If I were him, I'll tell Hillary I'll support her only if superdelgates were abolished.

That's the 'diversity' white liberal elites who run the democrat party "GIVE" to others - gift them - AS THEY SEE FIT.

The reason America's great is because we're unique in our willingness to trust the people. Giving back that power to a group of elites - even if they choose what Sheila Jackson Lee 'feels' is right - is third world hellhole stuff.

What hellhole in the world is NOT run by a bunch of self appointed 'elites' - also known as 'assh*les'... Is North Korea the goal?
