Pro-LGBT push underscores GOP convention (Barf Alert)
The Hill ^ | 7/23/2016 | Megan R. Wilson

Pro-LGBT Republicans, both gay and straight, say the party is going through a fundamental change. Equality issues are not controversial among younger Republicans, majorities of whom support gay marriage and other measures.

Richard Grenell, an openly gay former diplomat, told The Hill he is encouraged by how much progress the party has made, even over the last four years.

During the 2012 campaign, Grenell stepped down as Mitt Romney’s national security and foreign policy spokesman after to a conservative backlash over his sexuality.

“When I walk through the convention, I see politicians, activists and staffers who swarm me to tell me how supportive they are on equality issues,” said Grenell, who has been to every GOP convention since 1992. But, he added, some of them have not said so publicly.

“I am now switching my reaction to them to say, ‘Thank you for your private support, but I need your public support.’ ”

Ugh. Hate that my unborn child is going to grow up without a political party that advocates normal human behavior and relationships.

Pardon me while I puke.

Nope. The official pro-marriage platform remains intact.

Hey Jim,

What do you think of tax breaks for married couples with children?

I think if government has a role, that role should encompass encouraging behaviour that is good for society? Not gay relationships or any other diseased activity....

Is that European statist thinking?

Cheers,

Euro.

For the record, I don’t think we should persecute and jail gays, but certainly not put them on a pedastal and allow the gay agenda to go unchecked.

The Russian laws banning “homosexual propaganda” might not be so horrible imho, though it does run into first ammendment issues, so I guess we have to live with it :/

A dunghill with a balanced checkbook and good credit is still a dunghill.

I believe there already is a deduction allowed for spouse and each child. Spouse used to mean married. I think it still does on tax forms.

We’ve been killing babies since 1973 and now homosexual marriage is legal.

People who believe in traditional values have no reason to be loyal to the Republican Party anymore. The elites didn’t keep their part of the deal and now they are paying for it.

Our best goal, is to keep our borders and to stop the Islamic invasion for as long as we can - and to pray for revival.

I have a 9 year old and a 3 month old so I understand completely what you’re saying and I share the sentiment.

I agree. I keep our politicians especially Trump in my prayers and pray this country experiences a conversion of heart, returns to God, and is renewed by the Holy Spirit.

Pinch your nose and get over it. The alternative is to lose, watch 4 appointments to the SCOTUS go to the Democrats, double the welfare, food stamps, and whatever other aid there is.

Nobody really cares what two consenting adults do in their bedroom. But the lawfare and religious oppression has to stop. Trump’s great idea to repeal that LBJ era law that restricts political speech from the pulpit.

LGBTQ - what's the Q for?

Queer?

The official pro-marriage platform remains intact.

That's correct. They simply acknowledged that there are homosexual Republicans, and we don't hate them (even though most of us do not like their behavior).

I am reminded of the ending of Disney's Sleeping Beauty where the evil witch Maleficent says to the hero - "Now you will face me, O Prince, and all the Powers of Hell!"

In the Fairy Tale, Good prevails.

I think Trump is a Good man.

But he faces all the Powers of Hell indeed.

“Richard Grenell, an openly gay...”

Richard Grenell, a shameless, brazen sodomite...

“Nobody really cares what two consenting adults do in their bedroom.”

You’d damned well better care. Acceptance of sodomy is the death knell of a civilization.

As a Citizen of this Republic, we are glad to have you join the battle in liberating occupied America from the Marxist/Fascist/Liberal hordes.

You live your life. I will live mine.

What consenting Adults do after the election party is your business. Just don’t make me pay for it, or ask me to “accept” it.

So far the platform has held intact and I do believe the vast majority of our candidates and volunteers support it.

Many of the speakers and our nominee don’t support enough of it, though, and that’s a sad fact.

I’m fine with a homosexual man (Peter Thiel) deciding, on balance, that the Republican party best represents his interests and views. He can vote, support financially, whatever. Good for him.

What I am not fine with is him giving the appearance that the Republican Party stands for the homosexual agenda now (homo marriage, laws crushing freedom of religion and freedom of association and freedom of speech, re-education, forcing of sodomy promotion in the public schools, infiltration of the military).

If we stand for that I can’t go along with it.
