The problem is actually even more intractable than what O’Reilly says.

One has to ask why are blacks so susceptible to those destructive behaviors.

I watched him say Free Republic is a “far-right” web sight.

So? What’s wrong with that?

Spot on. This is exactly the kind of non-PC dialogue that needs to happen, but just the opposite will be coming out of the DNC convention.

i wish he would have added that the welfare system created by LBJ and Dems is what led to the breakdown of the Black family culture.

Worth watching and very accurate assessment. I rarely watch Bill anymore because I am tired of all the yelling left-right dog and pony show crap on cable news, but he often makes excellent points and I do watch his talking points memo.

Our country must have a conversation about the inner-city and the failures there. We should have had the conversation 30 years ago. It is a national tragedy what happens to these children and it breaks my heart. It should break every Americans heart. The unrealized potential of these children is a national sin that we must address and his main point would be an excellent start.

We must stop allowing those who benefit from the problem (the Sharptons and Jacksons, divisive politicians, and the social welfare system) from dominating the conversation. Each and every one of us as Americans, humans, and taxpayers, should have a voice at the table because this is a subject that is truly about children.

I often tell people that our nation would spare no expense or effort to save a child, regardless of color, that fell down a mine shaft. There would be endless news coverage, prayer, and massive community outreach to reach the child and save him/her. We would all celebrate the successful rescue of the child. You know this is true.

However, each and every day there are a hundred kids who are born into that well. That is irrefutable statistically - they are as condemned from birth as the child in the well, yet we do nothing. We don’t say anything. There is no news coverage. There is no community outreach. There is no prayer. Those who care and who try to make a difference are ground down by a system that is run by those who benefit from the dysfunction or blame people long since dead. The children are forgotten and few Americans understand the moral costs of such corruption to our nation and very soul.

Our nation is failing these kids. Our leaders are failing these kids. Our churches are failing these kids. Our communities (yes, they are part of America) are failing these kids. Those who divide us based on tribalism are failing these kids. Our entertainment industry is failing these kids. Our media is failing these kids. Our academics are failing these kids. The majority of America who believe or accepts the lie that they have no voice in this conversation are failing these kids.

We are writing them off the day they are born. Think about that! It is true. We accept this at our own peril. Don’t buy into their lies that you and I can’t talk about because of something as superficial as skin color! That by it’s very definition is racism! These are children and our nation is failing them to our detriment.

Rudy had it right - we are all Americans. The time for government programs as the only solution is over. They have failed miserably. We have to do things differently and it begins with an honest conversation.

i don’t get the OReilly hate.
He’s got a right to be proud of what he’s accomplished. and he’s pro life, so you think he’d be a god around here.
I don’t agree with everything he says, and I cannot hear “falafel” without thinking of him. But I watch and agree with most he says.

Correct. Either label translates to “extremist” in the mind of the average listener.

The education system is critical; education is the only way out of the underclass (notwithstanding the lottery), and by opposing education reform Dems have returned us to the days where it is illegal to teach slaves to read/write...

I gave up on BOR fifteen years ago. He stakes out extreme positions all over the map so that 20% of the time you agree vehemently with him and you think he’s on your side.

He’s not.

It’s all for ratings. His positions are strategic, not heart-felt.

Remember when the Brits were licked off their land in Zimbabwe and it was given to the natives who farmed just enough land to feed themselves? The idea of becoming an independent business operator and becoming wealthy never occurred to them. That requires too much effort and risk for some types of people.

"Our country must have a conversation about the inner-city and the failures there."

Dude, not so much in this thread, huh.

94 MILLION PEOPLE ARE OUT OF WORK.

That's more than the entire Amish population, if I need to drive that point home.

BOR was very good in the early Fox News days. His head has swelled a bit much for me to watch him regularly anymore. I miss Britt Hume.
