I can see Chris Matthews head exploding at just the thought of the comparison!

Some here may not know the Kennedy “Camelot” legend (?) was fabricated After his death. http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2013/11/12/how-jackie-kennedy-invented-the-camelot-legend-after-jfk-s-death.html

Let’s not forget Ivana Trump and even Marla Trump. I believe Donald when he says he is not alone responsible for raising such children. His wives, exes and present, are as worthy of credit as he is.

Excuse me if I don’t think a comparison to JFK, Jr. is something to be admired.

Uhhh, our ancestors moved to America to get away from Royalty.

The Trump family was great. ALL their speeches were great. However, just remember why everybody loved them- they were taught to work their asses off since they were little, at real jobs. THAT'S why everybody loves them.

America does not do Royal families.

But let us candidly admit that it *does* do political dynasties. And sometimes those political dynasties (e.g. the Clintons or the Kennedies) have been above the law to a degree that mere Royal families are not.

I’m glad to say that it looks like the Trump dynasty may be vastly preferable to the liberal versions.

I’d rather say it’s the age of the Sun King.

Camelot is mythology...

The Trump family is real...

The speeches were very, very good. What struck me most was the universal poise, class, attractiveness, humility and intelligence each and every offspring exuded. To say I am impressed is almost an understatement.

Kas,
While I appreciate your posting the article, I’ll just disagree with the premise of it.

No, they’re not “Camelot”; they’re just real Americans, who understand what the American Dream really means, and how to achieve it. Sired by a good Man and Father who saw better things for himself and his future and went after them with drive, determination, and ambition.

And that alone is praise-worthy and cause for applause.

As one Freeper put it (wish I remembered who) - “Trump’s just like me... but with a whole lot more money”

I think it would have been hoot if they had of made it a complete sweep of Trump speakers and had Baron up..... even if it was to introduce his Mom with a “please welcome the greatest Mom in the world” 15 second speech.

A couple of points: (1) It's true that Jackie Kennedy invented the Camelot comparison post mortem, but the Kennedy clan was always fascinating to the voters and the media. (Their flaws were at the time kept deeply under wraps.) (2) The Trump family made an important difference last week. They gave Trump some important context, softening his image and making him seem a lot more human. His children obviously adore him and he loves them. The fact that they turned out the way they did greatly increases the comfort level of those who are still deciding. Not to mention the contrast with the Clinton crime family.

And I neglected to mention Melania, who will be a very stylish and capable first lady, much better than Bill Clinton.

I am so looking forward to watching this beautiful family the next 8 years, Lord willing.
They are respectful, articulate, passionate and fun!

It will almost erase the embarrassment/hurt of Michelle’s harsh words and attitude.

Just like JFK Jr., Donald Jr. is a brilliant speaker

JFK Jr. was a brilliant speaker? What did he speak about, and where? I'm not finding much evidence online.

I don’t recall any “old school class” being demonstrated by any Kennedys. Lots of drunkenness, skirt-chasing, adultery, corruption, and much more vastly reminiscent (or predictive of) the Clintons), but NO class at all. The Kennedys were rich white trash.

On merely public speaking ability I ranked them this way:

1. Tiffany - Came across as very likeable and genuine. Her humor came through.
2. Don Jr. - Very passionate and made a very convincing speech.
3. Eric - A little stiff and a bit disjointed at times but still really good testament to his dad.
4. Ivanka - Good content but her delivery was the worst of the 4 kids. Seemed pretty rehearsed.

All that being said it was a tough situation to be in and reading off a teleprompter can't seem all that natural. They all did great for the venue though.
