Never heard of Garner.

Martin and Brown were thugs.

Great example of how the Left 'muddies the water' to mask their real agenda.

Martin and Brown absolutely were thugs that deserved their fate.

The Eric Garner case, however, is a real example of police brutality, egged on by stupid LEFTIST politicians. Garner was an overweight black man in poor health trying to make a few bucks by selling 'loosie' cigarettes on a street corner in NYC for a buck a piece. In Comrade DiBlasio's New York, this is crime worse than murder, because not only is the 'nanny state' being ignored, but tax dollars are not being collected by government overlords.

So it became a top priority for DiBlasio to order a harsh crackdown on anyone committing such a heinous crime - to the point where Garner was pinned down and practically suffocated before having a heart attack.

It's critical that people on our side continue to make the case that every single one of these cases are different, and where law enforcement is to blame, hold them accountable. And where law enforcement is NOT to blame (as usually is the case), call the Left out on its blantant hypocricy.

Garner was the black guy who died after being arrested for selling tax free smokes. He was allegedly put in a choke hold (or not) and expressed to the cops he was having trouble breathing...

Of all the cases hyped in the media, it is the one I have the most sympathy regarding. The guy was basically avoiding confiscatory taxes and not bothering anyone.

He may have resisted, which was dumb. He was also pretty overweight and not healthy.

yup, Martin and Brown both got themselves shot while thuggishly attacking an armed man. Assault a guy with a gun, you might get yourself shot. In Brown’s case he was assaulting a police officer, shortly after he had assaulted and robbed a convenience store clerk. Martin and Brown were criminals who brought about their own demise, so ofc the DemocRATs want to make them heroes.

Garner was also a criminal, although of a rather petty sort. He died in NYC of a heart attack (he was way overweight and in terrible health) while resisting police arrest. He was probably about to die anyway, given the bad condition of his heart, but if he had not resisted arrest he might have lasted longer.

None of these guys deserves in ANY way to be made the subject of adulation at a political convention, but ofc the Demagogues are scurrilous race baiting monsters.

Garner was not in the same league as Brown or Martin. You might recall, he was the real obese black guy selling cigs, that failed to fully cooperate. He did not want to got to jail and denied doing anything wrong. The video is out there. He was surrounded and jump on by multiple Leos over a cig tax thing so they could effect an arrest. It was a bit hard to watch, knowing this guy died over this. He never attacked the cops or got violent. I believe with common sense discretion on the part of the cops, this could handled different. I don’t believe the cops were racist here, but they did have that, “Obey or else” mentality as if they in a war zone and the suspect was an enemy threat. Should he have totally cooperated? Yep. Did the LEOs overreact for the situation? I believe they did.

That being said, Brown and Martin were clearly violent criminals. Big difference.
