Mike Huckabee: ‘Trump Trusted Ted and Was Rewarded with a Betrayal’
Breitbart ^ | 21 Jul 2016 | Alex Swoyer

Posted on 07/21/2016 1:03:43 PM PDT by detective

Former 2016 GOP presidential candidate Mike Huckabee says fellow former candidate Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) betrayed Republican nominee Donald Trump last night at the Republican National Convention.

Cruz opted not to endorse Trump after he vowed — as the other candidates had — to support the eventual nominee.

I wouldn’t call it holding a grudge. I’d say he does not forget those who stab him the back.

I agree.

Trump obligated himself because is cost him nothing to support the winner.

The others did it because it was unthinkable but, they did commit.

Ted is an ass for not following through as is Kasich....

****He never Trusted Ted****

Donald Trump’s success in business deals etc., certainly had to be based on his ability to help his competitors self-destruct.

His campaign of seemingly uncouth ‘personal insults’, was so clever. Arguing policy does not stir the blood, but touching a nerve is a subtle, effective weapon.

Cruz insulted the New Yorkers.

We could have been in a similar delegation.

They’re just people.

Moot point. Trump knew he could weather anything Cruz had to say. He needed to let Cruz speak to show that he’s serious about unifying the Party. Michael Moore has admitted publicly that Trump will be President. That’s as good as an endorsement. Moore is smarter than he looks and may well have sussed that the fact that the fascist oligarch Wall St. bankster controllers of the GOP were apoplectic over Trump meant that Trump needed to be reconsidered by anyone with sympathies for the Occupy movement.

This is flatly false.
Newt reviewed Cruz’ speech before it was delivered.

Let’s stick with reality.

Ted Cruz the AV Geek was invited to the big Football party with the team and the cheerleaders and instead of acting cool and making nice he got drunk, pooped in his pants, pissed on the rug, threw up on the head cheerleader and groped the family dog.

Ted Cruz.: The new Tim Misney. Doing wills and chasing ambulances for a career.

If personal principles were indeed the prime motivator for not honoring his pledge, as Ted finally told the Texas delegates at a breakfast gathering, then he should have politely declined the invitation to speak at the convention. I think, retrospectively he will realize that putting his personal vendetta ahead of our country’s best interests was a great opportunity missed. He could have rose above it, unfortunately he was blinded.

I was a Cruz supporter up until he blamed Trump for inciting violence at the Chicago rally.

It’s time to move on and beat Hillary.

I’ve never watched his show, don’t have tv.

Keep in mind his tv persona and presidental persona will no be exactly the same.

“To me the biggest betrayal was against the base...he made this day about him instead of the VP!”

Worse than that, the narcissistic POS actually made a half hour speech as if HE was the friggin’ candidate making an acceptance speech.

Do you have some inside knowledge?

I saw the photo of Trump’s face when cruz was speaking. He didn’t look like a man who knew what Cruz would be saying.

***********

Apparently Trump knew exactly what Cruz was going to do and allowed him to do it.

Cruz told Trump in a phone conversation two days ago that he would not endorse
him during his speech, according to Cruz aide Jason Johnson.

Still, Trump’s campaign invited Cruz to speak — in a headliner role, no less......

In a late night tweet, Trump said he had seen Cruz’s speech two hours before he
took the stage but let him speak anyway. “No big deal!” Trump wrote

I didn’t even think of that, but that pledge was just for the purpose of hurting Trump.

The losers were so eager to sign on, and when it was Trump who was the winner, they didn’t want to stick to the rules they probably came up with!

Trump knew that Cruz was going to do what he did. Let him because, as a student of human nature, he knew what the reaction would be. Magnificent scoundrel set Cruz up for a fall, big time. Hehehe go Trump!
