There are many prominent Republicans who have stayed away from the Republican National Convention this week. Prominent among them is former GOP nominee, Sen. John McCain, who says he's not even watching the convention and is focused instead on winning re-election.

I bumped into the campaign of another "Conservative Republican" running against McCain at the gun show in Phoenix last week. He's a radio talk show host I've never heard of who holds down the 9PM to 10PM Sunday time slot on the station that carries Michael Medved and Hugh Hewitt.

After talking to his supporters for a while I got the distinct impression that his campaign may be a McCain operation intended to take votes away from Kelli. I would recommend that people in AZ not fall for it.
