Footage Captures Man Accused Of Building Chemical Weapon Inside Walmart Store

The man wearing all black is initially seen in the security footage from June 18 blending in like any other shopper.

But, authorities say, he didn’t come to the store to shop, but to build a chemical weapon.

“This is a very bizarre case,” said Eric Sonstegard, the Oxnard Assistant Police Chief.

Detectives identified the suspect as Martin Reyes. They say he went to the store after conducting research online on how to build a deadly chemical weapon.

Once inside the store, police said the man assembled all of the ingredients from store shelves, which included some kind of electronic appliance.

Police said he used a socket near the stationary section to plug in the appliance, which was then designed to set the chemical weapon off.

“This device could have caused a lot of harm,” Sonstegard said.

Stationary (not moving) or stationery (writing paper and stuff)?

Interesting.

Last week, in a farm supply store in central Illinois, a young, dark-haired man approached me wondering if I knew where a certain chemical could be found. I pointed him to store staff, but when I went to check out he was asking someone about the location of a second chemical which would have given him, together with the first chemical, the ability to make a chemical weapon. Later, he loaded a bunch of jugs in his trunk.

His tag number and description is now with the authorities.

Maybe the latest Inspire had a feature article.

Really??

Now I’m gonna have to deal with a landmine field in Wal-Mart just to get to the gun counter to see if they have .22LR ammo?

Man’s gotta do what a man’s gotta do...

‘Is he Black or Hispanic? I can’t tell.’

He’s latino.

He looks old because he’s sullen, skinny, and has his head shaved. A pretty typical look in Occupied California.

Perhaps they could have stuck the other end up his rear end and plugged it in.

Useless air breather.

I never thought about it, but you’re right. One bucket, one bottle of bleach, and one bottle of ammonia would empty the entire store. I mixed this together once out of ignorance...experience tells me just one bottle of each cleaner is all that would be needed.
