A Deeper Look into Ted Cruz’s RNC Convention Speech
Conservative Treehouse ^ | July 21, 2016 | Sundance

Posted on 07/21/2016 4:03:01 AM PDT by detective

Before Ted Cruz walked onto the convention stage in Cleveland, Donald Trump had a very good idea what was about to happen. Without pre-planning, or staged set-ups, Trump knew what to expect because Donald Trump has an exceptional political sense; he knows how to read his adversaries.

Throughout his life, Ted Cruz has exhibited a character of division; entirely tone-deaf to the people he encounters and leaves in his wake. Those who knew Cruz in grade school and college have talked about how Cruz’s abrasive personality made him a lonely person despite his intellect.

Toxic abrasiveness is the same reason why President George W Bush would not elevate Ted Cruz in the White House 2001-2005. Attorney Cruz was 30-years-old and arrogantly thought he should have been a candidate for Attorney General; unfortunately, no-one else did.

Yes!

There needs to be a real shake-out in conservative media.

Too many old guys that have made themselves rich off of complaining. Rush doesn’t even do TV interviews, and he hasn’t put out a book in 25 years!

AM talk radio is NOT the future, and while the left took over the internet, our side just dug in further to that dinosaur medium. Hell even some of them, when they finally got around to the web, decided to charge you for their podcasts!

Tone-deaf!

Thankfully there are lots of people on YouTube and other mediums (as long as they can) that have taken up the war against the left. They dont get paid much, they risk their day jobs, and they DESERVE our support far more than this tiny clique of radio guys that can all too easily get in our way when they dont get their way.

Cruz clearly demonstrated before all that he is actually a very small man and as such, he is a phony and without anything other than an ambitious vision for himself that gets in the way of everything else. However, he has a lot of talent.... let’s all pray he grows up and learns to develop some class so that somehow he can be a productive human being somewhere.

George Soros is looking for a new puppet. Ted’s audition went well.

Answer the question, name caller who doesn’t know where to put a period. When is enough, enough?

And I’ll add “People who still believe Rush is for real are ignorant.”

The man broke a promise to support our party’s nominee.

He showed that he’s all talk and no action - its all about him.

Every one felt sickened - regardless of where you stood on Trump, get over it and move on.

Ted Cruz didn’t and destroyed his bid for higher office in the future because he couldn’t set aside his personal needs for the greater good.

Telling people to vote for any one but Trump was the lowest moment in his political career.

Thanks Ted, for leaving as you described it in your speech, the country and the party, a house divided.

You’re showed that you’re not a gentleman, your word is not your bond and you’re not fit to shine Trump’s shoes.

What an epitaph.

It was amazing to watch Cruz commit political suicide in front of 10 million viewers last night. It’s time for him to move back to Canada, permanently.

That is what was so awful - he went after the people, in his arrogant way he has. It really was stupid. I believe he has a personality disorder, BTW. He reminds me of some members of my family, who have destroyed everything in their path... think they are better than everyone else, rules don’t apply to them... Also think everyone else is wrong, that they are hated by all because people are jealous, or stupid.

“His insult to the people of NY last night, the bland, oblivious look on his face when he said it, makes me think he’s either autistic or mad as a hatter.”

For all of Trump’s mistakes, weaknesses, gaffes, etc, Trump has NEVER made fun of or attacked his supporters, or supporters or any other candidate - which is precisely why he’s the nominee. He attacks the candidates, not their supporters...and so those supporters moved over to Trump, as the candidates dropped out.

Cruz has done just what McCain did, and went after the people he made need in the future - except McCain was in a better position from which to attack. Cruz ended it all last night.

He said something like “I appreciate the enthusiasm of the NY delegation.”

I guess the word of the day should be statesmanship. DefeaTED demonstrated that is a quality he lacks.

Even if, as even some FReepers posit, his “vote your conscience” is construed as a half-(quarter, eighth?)-hearted endorsement, it was lame enough that Hillary and her minions can use it as a sound bite. Never give your opponent such a gift.

The mistake was huge. Texas-sized huge.

Let's cut to the chase. Cruz is just an asshole! (Mea culpa for my language)

I could just imagine Heidi and Ted finally alone last night in their car as they were being whisked away from the arena.

“That went well,” she probably said rolling her eyes.

If he wasn’t going to endorse Trump then he shouldn’t have made the speech.

"Yes it did!" Cruz replied with a satisfied smile. "Yes it did."

Heidi could only sigh, look out the car window and shake her head.

A whole lot of careers ended at that convention this week.

Ted Cruz. The Bush Family. Karl Rove. All for the best.
