Trump'done more to defend those ideas than any politician of our time. He's done it by attacking globalism and insisting that we must remain an independent, sovereign nation.
If we don't stop giving in to global institutions and preserve this as an independent nation, then the smaller details won't matter.

Of course, you ‘re right to say he stood up for America being independent from other governments. However, he is unable to think on a deeper level, such as what you added: the word “sovreign”. He sees countries who “cheat” as needing to be called to task, like a good father. The real probkem he did not mention is that a communist dictatorship is not bound by laws, and we should never have opened the door to them on that principle, as we did in the Cold War with Russia, Cuba, China, etc.
