Trump’s Trap?!?!
What are you talking about?’

Trump graciously invited him to speak—no conditions attached.

Cruz could have honored his pledge...ah but he chose not to...No trap.

[He walked into TRUMPS trap]

NO. CRUZ tried to ambush TRUMP’S campaign. PROOF? This email was in my inbox. Needless to say, I pushed the UNSUBSCRIBE button.

OUR FIGHT GOES ON
It was an honor to speak to the delegates at the Republican National Convention. As our cause goes forward, I want to remind you about the stakes.

Americans are furious—rightly so—at a political establishment that cynically breaks its promises and ignores the will of the people.

But there is is a better vision for our future: a return to freedom. If we choose freedom, our future will be brighter.
Freedom will bring back jobs and raise wages. Freedom will lift people out of dependency and to the dignity of work.

47 years ago today, America put a man on the moon. That’s the power of freedom.
Our party was founded to defeat slavery.
Abraham Lincoln, the first Republican president, signed the Emancipation Proclamation.
We passed the Civil Rights Act, and fought to eliminate Jim Crow laws.
Those were fights for freedom, and so is this.

Will you stand with me by making an immediate donation $5, $10, $25, or whatever you can afford today?

This fight has never been about a particular candidate or campaign, but because each of us wants to be able to tell our kids and grandkids, that we did our best for their future, and for our country.

Chip in $5 >>>
Chip in $10 >>>
Chip in $25 >>>
Chip in $50 >>>

We must make the most of our moment – to fight for freedom, to protect our God-given rights, even of those with whom we don’t agree, so when we are old, and our work is done, we will be able to say, “Freedom matters, and I fought to save it.”

I promise to lead the fight for freedom and our liberty every day from the United States Senate.
We can do this.
But I can’t do it without you.

TED CRUZ

Donald allowed Ted to dig his own electoral grave. If Trump had viewed Ted’s speech beforehand, and refused to permit Ted to take the stage, Cruz would forever have a talking point that he was ‘denied to express himself.
“If only he could have explained his position to the American People, he would have won them over, but the Trump campaign worked to prevent his free speech.”
Now, Ted has only himself to blame. He will probably come back from this, being only in his 40’s, but it may be a long time in self imposed exile.

What trap? Cruz’s brilliance has been greatly exaggerated. The guy is 13 kinds of stupid.

What trap? Cruz was one of the ones who demanded the pledge in the first place. Cruz trapped himself.

Good riddance to Cruz.

“I like Cruz but he walked into Trumps trap.”

I beg to differ. Trump simply afforded him the same opportunity that he had for any number of his former opponents. There was no trap. Cruz could have given a good speech and endorsed Trump, but he chose to end his career with his dumbassed mouth all by himself!

Look, this is probably going to work out fine for both Cruz and Trump. Cruz sets himself up as a brand of uncompromising christian conservative. His brand will be small but strong. Trump shows that he has the party. He has Pence. And he is setting up a difference between President of the United States and Priest of the United States.

To vote for Trump you are not voting for the perfect conservative. Instead you are voting against a corrupt government, a corrupt party and a corrupt media. Trump is breaking through a Clinton, Bush elite sham that used democracy as a show, to get 51% behind one guy.

I think Ted Cruz would have been a fine president. But I voted for Trump when I started to believe that Ted Cruz will never get the chance to be President. And I believe Trump does have the chance. Its really that. The press has done a great job tearing down conservatives. They crucified Cruz when he filibustered with stories about Green Eggs and Ham. They make him look small and mean, and sort of dorky. And unfortunately for him, I think he has reinforced this portrayal tonight.
