Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump said Wednesday that the U.S. wouldn’t necessarily defend other NATO countries if they were attacked by Russia.

In an interview with the New York Times, Mr. Trump essentially said the U.S. would not abide by the military alliance, one provision of which declares an attack on one to be an attack on all.

How many non-U.S. nations honor the 2% defense spending pledge they made upon joining NATO? One report in 2015 said only Estonia.

Sorry, but I don't have much empathy for these freeloaders. They want the U.S. to pay for their defense.

“Mr. Trump said that if Russia attacked them, he would decide whether to come to their aid only after reviewing whether those nations ‘have fulfilled their obligations to us,’” the Times wrote.

Hmmm... seems like a reasonable approach.

Methinks, Turkey’s spending will go way up.

The US and Russia are natural allies. The only reason we had the Cold War was so the Military Industrial Complex could rake in the bucks. In truth, we were only paper enemies.

There are 28 NATO nations. That graph is deliberately excluding a bunch of them, so that it doesn't look as ugly. Furthermore, I said "non-U.S." nations, so that one doesn't even count.

Business Insider, 2015: Only the US and Estonia are meeting NATO's defense budget goals

Everything our EUnix NATO “allies” had, lumped together, wasn’t enough to take down the air defenses of a nation with no air defense (Libya).

Worthless, useless parasites. The entire lot.

Yeh he’s talking about Turkey. If Erdogan builds his little caliphate he may be out of NATO soon.

When have the United States and Russia EVER been “natural allies?” The press release at the end of Ice Station Zebra doesn’t count.

Turkey turned their back to the US during the Iraq War, prolonging the war and costing many American lives

Putin you’re welcome to take down that Muslim infested and soon to be Caliphate Obama supporting Turkey. One condition. Restore the Hagia Sophia to her former beauty and wipe out any vestige of that desecration the Turks wrought on that church.
