Unfortunately Newt can’t correct a mistake like that by trying to say what Cruz really meant anymore that her minions can retroactively change things Hillary has said or done. Just does not work.
I guess I needed to be more clear that I was being sarcastic. Newt took the opportunity to straighten out the choices for this election, and Cruz proved, once again, that he can be a jumbo-sized douche bag. Again, sorry I was not clear on the intentional sarcasm.
So you enjoy his feeding into Democrat talking points? He embarrassed himself and the RNC. He could have found a way to work around an endorsement. You may see sabotage as silly but most of us don’t.

You shouldn’t be confused. Cruz did what Cruz has always done. He promoted Ted Cruz. His filibuster. His government shutdown. The only thing those accomplished were to promote the image of Ted Cruz. His fellow Senators have always disliked him because of his egotism.
What you say tonight was Ted Cruz believing he could give a great speech and that speech would set him up for a Presidential run in 2020. He miscalculated badly.
But, perhaps, this might really be the spark that truly consolidates the republican party behind Trump.
IMO he just used the the GOP convention to launch a write in campaign.

Cruz supporter here who is extremely disappointed and hope he can live with his conscience.
He was an outsider.
