We saw this same behavior from the MSM when Sarah “Barracuda” Palin gave her acceptance speech. First the slack-jawed amazement at how good she was, and then the quick realization that they had to destroy her because she was so dangerous to them and their cause.

It's all the MSM has and they know their influence has waned since Pat Buchanan's excellent speech at the RNC in 1992. I came away from that thinking "holy crap, what a great job, it's about time somebody spoke like that nationally". The next day and weeks - the whole convention was positioned as a hate fest with angry, privileged white people.
This will be the meme again this year however their influence is not the same as it was in 1992 and as a result, they need to try even harder, thus the constant harping on a non issue in the hopes of changing hearts and minds.

Been watching the media up close and personal for nearly 3 decades. They will ALWAYS find something, magnify and amplify it, and pretend the “discovery” cannot be ignored and is worthy of constant scrutiny.
Abu Ghraib, Valerie Plane, a “star” on a tweet, a call for border enforcement....all of these were “news” for an exorbitant amount of time to the media.
Same thing with a few seconds of a speech in a night chock full of them.

They copy most all their ‘news’ from others’ talking points and stories.
