Why give someone a prime time speaking slot when they are not going to endorse.
I have been watching republican conventions since 1992 and this is the first time I have seen something like this.
First time a party has been transformed so remarkably, by an outsider. We'll see if the decision was wise, over time. Cruz's remarks certainly showed a division in the party, and amplified it, perhaps made the division look bigger than it is - and no matter what, the press will add to that.
My gut tells me it was a wise move. It is going to accelerate the playing out of the "Cruz force" to whatever end it ultimately reaches. I think the exposure speeds up demise, rather than success.
That end is worth the short, intense pain to Trump.
