How CNN muzzled victims' voices at the Republican National Convention
Breitbart ^ | 7/19/16 | Joel B. Pollak

CNN cut away from speakers who spoke out against illegal immigration at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland on Monday night, turning instead to its daily stable of talking heads, and coming back for a conventional politician’s speech. Mary Ann Mendoza, Sabine Durden, and Jamiel Shaw, who each lost a child through crimes committed by illegal aliens, spoke from the heart about why they supported Donald Trump’s proposal to enforce immigration law and build a border wall.

Shaw, who is black, told the tearful audience in Cleveland’s Quicken Loans Arena “You’d think Obama cared, and black lives mattered … Only Trump called me on the phone one day to see how I was doing … Trump will put America first.”

But CNN, which lately fought to rebuild its audience by including more conservative perspectives, filtered out those voices, returning to the speeches in time for Rep. Michael McCaul (R-TX), who gave a good but otherwise unremarkable address.

He shouldn’t have done that. But it might have been advisers telling him to call at that time, or Fox might have set it up, despite the idea that it was just him calling them.

Fox viewers are far more likely to be aware of Pat Smith, either way. I wonder what CNN and the networks - where more swing voters would likely be watching - were doing during her speech.

I had to turn off Fox and switch to Ch. 347. Fox just talked over all of the speeches when I was watching. Same old political analyst saying the same stuff.

“How CNN muzzled victims’ voices at the Republican National Convention”

That is why it is best to watch the coverage on CSpan. Commercial-free and only one talking head, usually.

“What kind of bad attitude?”

There was a big county project that was funded by the Feds.

M was on the board for over-seeing the project.

The project went bust with corruption and made national news.

M went on TV and blasted the county!

I called him and he returned my call! Said he was not responsible since it was a county project. I explained to him that he was on the board that over-saw the project and he then started in on me for questioning his authority! He was both crude and rude and obviously considered me to be his inferior and treated in anymanner he considered ok in order to get me off the subject.

I took the hint.

I understand. I did watch C-span, in fact. But I’m politically engaged and have already decided to vote for Trump. I’m not a swing voter or moderately informed Democrat just tuning in to see what Republicans have to say. The object is to gain votes.

I watched a live stream over the internet (youtube) that had no talking heads. I wanted to experience it without anyone talking. Saw every speaker. It was great.

CSPAN was the best. No commercials or talking heads. No speech cut.

ABC had a running commentary during Giuliani, it was outrageous they would cut in whenever they wanted to correct what he was saying. We never watch news, it was shocking to see this arm of the democrat machine, very bias.

Van Jones was wetting his panties over a “hate fest” he thought was in the making.

I watch the national news a lot, and it is simply terrible. I watched ABC for years, then watched NBC for the last couple. I just switched back to ABC because it is a hair less-biased than NBC, and just for the change from the same propaganda tactics from the same people.

I watched C-span last night but would like to have caught more of the network and PBS coverage, to see what many likely swing voters were seeing.

Knowing that the media dishonestly manipulates just about every story that matters, I’m not surprised that they will try to manipulate the convention coverage to favor the Democratic Party.

What - no NBC and PBS? Without them, that’s only moderate bias. /s

It was on TV. There’s DVR and Tivo now.

If you’re not inerested enough to watch a little bit of a convention and depend on the alphabets you’re (not you) a nitwit.

ANYTHING missed will be heard in the debates, believe me. Trump wont leave anything out.

I believe RightSide News Broadcasting was also airing live on YouTube, they also archived. I believe there are other YouTube channels as well.

They always do that around election time. To try and validate themselves to the middle ground people as objective.

Same way with fuel prices. They always seem to go down around an election. d:^)

Fox and Fox business both kept cutting away mid speech. I switched to CSPAN early on. No commercials, no talking heads.

CBS cut away from a couple of speakers too. Then I changed to another outlet.

Fox did pretty much the same thing - C-Span is the only place to watch for uninterrupted coverage without commentary.......

“Thanks for letting me know. What a jerk!”

Correction. He was an attorney and prosecutor. It was another rep from north of Houston that was an ex-cop. That one is married to a judge.

McCaul is married to Linda Mays McCaul. She is the daughter of Clear Channel Communications chairman Lowry Mays and sister of its CEO Mark Mays. In 2011, Roll Call named McCaul as one of the wealthiest members of the United States Congress, surpassing then U.S. Senator John Kerry (D-MA). His net worth was estimated at $294 million

This is the junk most of America listens to, mindlessly. The most important thing to teach our kids is to think for themselves.
