How CNN muzzled victims' voices at the Republican National Convention
Breitbart ^ | 7/19/16 | Joel B. Pollak

CNN cut away from speakers who spoke out against illegal immigration at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland on Monday night, turning instead to its daily stable of talking heads, and coming back for a conventional politician’s speech. Mary Ann Mendoza, Sabine Durden, and Jamiel Shaw, who each lost a child through crimes committed by illegal aliens, spoke from the heart about why they supported Donald Trump’s proposal to enforce immigration law and build a border wall.

Shaw, who is black, told the tearful audience in Cleveland’s Quicken Loans Arena “You’d think Obama cared, and black lives mattered … Only Trump called me on the phone one day to see how I was doing … Trump will put America first.”

But CNN, which lately fought to rebuild its audience by including more conservative perspectives, filtered out those voices, returning to the speeches in time for Rep. Michael McCaul (R-TX), who gave a good but otherwise unremarkable address.

First, I was wondering if any or all of the networks did the same thing. That's a way to simply deny us our convention coverage.

And second, I'll also note that I posted a thread earlier about CNN apparently altering one of the bystander videos of the Alton Sterling shooting. The sound of the first gunshots has been moved to an earlier point in the video, as clearly shown by comparing CNN's version to those of others. The gunshots also don't match up with what's going on in the video, but if you just get a quick look at it, the altered video does arguably create a stronger impression of the police "executing" Alton Sterling.

CNN is NOT helping race relations one stinkin’ bit. I heard C-Span was the best.

I’d laugh if CNN loses it’s broadcasting license on January 21, 2017.

CNN at least has Trump supporters on. Fox went months without allowing someone to speak for Trump on its major shows.

Drudge tweeted something cryptic about ‘bumpy ride’ on Fox tonight. Like Ailes may bring down the ship on the way out.

Cable channels don’t need to have an FCC license.

“Rep. Michael McCaul (R-TX)”

My former rep. Former cop. Bad attitude. Part of what is wrong with our our system.

Comparison of what's showing on-screen just as the first series of three gunshots ends, in the same video shown by CNN, CBS News, and the Young Turks, respectively:

CNN's copy of the amateur video of Alton Sterling's shooting appears to have been altered

These network cutaways really annoy me. They cut off convention speeches that they deem boring or otherwise objectionable, and instead show us their biased, whiny panel of experts. I don’t tune in for that. I’ll just watch the live stream on my computer. Idiots.

They all do the same thing, go to CSPAN if you want to actually hear the speakers.

The only thing is that it matters what other people, particularly swing voters, get to see, because so much of what they see and hear is already heavily censored.

I watched the C-span livestream myself, and only later started tuning in the networks, too, to see what they were up to. Instead of covering General Mike Flynn’s speech, for instance, CBS News carried an interview with Hillary Clinton.

Do you think they will interview Donald Trump during DNC election coverage next week?

I did watch C-span.

But many people can’t or won’t, and many are swing voters.

THEY are the people who have to hear about the toll of Benghazi and crime by illegal immigrants. The posters on Free Republic already know about all that.

Agreed. Found RNC Channel next to FOX last night on our
cable. Someone was speaking and FOX cut in to force feed
their pundits. Megan started the incessant soroity girl
snarking and giggling so we switched back to RNC.

Will do it again tonight.
