I feel for the children and hope that both the other mothers will be honored with a spot at the Inaugural Ball. I agree with you. This was definitely an unforced error. Given that this speech was weeks in the making, someone should have realized the similarities and avoided them. Unfortunately the media and online focus (including FR) is on this. The buzz should be about Luttrell, Clarke, Flynn, Smith, Shaw, Geist. There were many amazing and emotional speeches last night that are now overshadowed.
The argument that others have done it doesn't matter. We know there's a different level of scrutiny for us. Hopefully this story will be in the rear view mirror by tomorrow.

The splice and the transcript DOES show that the similarities are significant to rise to plagiarism. It doesn’t matter if the copier is prettier or has better delivery. Sheesh.
This is what they call the red herring. Instead of talking about the mom who lost her son speech, we are talking about this garbage.
That is why this is so horrible. If the speechwriter hadn’t done this, we could have the focus on Benghazi or ANYTHING ELSE today. This was a dishonesty that we can’t afford to make if we are calling Hillary the liar.
I disagree. Trump was so proud of his wife. She’s a laughing stock today. Trump is furious. Neither knew this was a cheap hack off another speech. No way this was a strategy. This was a very bad speech writer.
