As a person of Czech descent....I absolutely LOVED her speech.
My father, who recently passed away, was still angry about the invasion of Czechoslovakia. For a long time, our family sent care packages of tins of food, clothing, etc.
But when one of our Bohemian relatives asked for tennis balls, Gramps said, “Hey, if they need tennis balls... they don’t need our help anymore.” LOL! I miss my Dad and my Gramps. Anyway...
I think she is fantastic. I read that she doesn’t like to be in the public.
But she reminded people of the evil that is Communism.
She will be a strong, beautiful, lovely First Lady.
God bless her and her husband. She did an awesome job tonight! :)
I have to say that when she said that, she made me proud, and I felt honored. I loved that, it made me smile. Glad she is here.
Same here on my father's side. All of my "great, greats" were from there. After her speech, all I could think of is, I wish there could have been here to see this. I was fortunate enough to be stationed in Germany when the wall came down. Made many trips to Pilsen and Prague. The people there are the greatest. They love Americans.
Too bad they fubared the speech. Did anyone read this ahead of time? Obviously it wasn’t that hard to figure out. The passages in question were practically verbatim. It’s like amatuer hour. Instead of celebrating a greatly delivered speech, we look like a bunch of idiots copying a speech from those we supposedly can’t stand. If I turned an English paper in for a grade in school like that, it would get an F. The lack of attention to detail is staggering.
