What to know about the Republican National Convention in Cleveland, which officially kicked off Monday morning:
Live streaming will resume here at 4:50 p.m. PT.
Multiple state delegations walked off the floor after the rules were passed twice by voice vote and anti-Trump delegates protested on the floor.
Big protests are planned, and protests outside Donald Trump events have turned violent throughout the primary season. Many extremist groups are expected to show up.
Melania Trump will headline the first night of the convention, as well as speakers such as actors Scott Baio and Antonio Sabato Jr., who organizers are saying make up an "unconventional" lineup. Here's a summary of the schedule.
The full schedule was released less than a day before the start of the convention, and the list of people who are refusing to attend is nearly as interesting.
The goal of the convention for Donald Trump is to pull off a gaffe- and glitch-free convention to give himself a decent shot at being elected president of the United States in November, writes The Times' Mark Z. Barabak.
In addition to Donald Trump, there will be no shortage of other Trumps speaking at this convention in prime time, starting tonight with the candidate's wife, Melania Trump, and continuing with his sons, Donald Jr. and Eric, and his daughters, Ivanka and Tiffany.
There will also be a generous sprinkling of reality TV celebrities, including Willie Robertson of "Duck Dynasty" and Rep. Sean P. Duffy of Wisconsin and his wife, Rachel Campos-Duffy, who met on MTV's "The Real World."
Several of Trump's vanquished opponents will appear as well: Texas' former governor, Rick Perry, and junior senator, Ted Cruz, as well as Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie.

Thank you, I saw that in another post listing RNC speakers. I don’t consider her a main speaker, so I’m hoping she’s in between some.
Liberals are disgusting. The way they talk about Mrs. Smith. It is shameful. Someone even called her at traitor. UGH.
Not able to see...but news seems super boring with only anti trumpers in news :(
Wow, what a bunch of idjits on that Twitter thread!
Wow, just watched Darryl Glenn, Sen. Colorado- what an awesome speech. Pro life, Pro 2nd amendment.
Watching Tom Cotton now “Hell is on the way”
Yessir!!! The man from Colorado was a winner for us here as well. Wonderful.

Thank you! The other link started back up just as Melania finished.
CBS is shameless...I have the sound down but they are playing video of Charlie Rose interviewing Hillary...wonder if they’ll show a Trump interview next week during the DNC?
