You are correct. I agree Cruz, Romney, Bush, Kasich, and McCain were aware of the efforts Friday and Today,
As much as I do not like Dole at least he has stood up and supported Trump..
I guess that's a possibility. How much he was aware, and how much he did (OR DID NOT?) contribute to organizing and staging this posturing, we may never know, unless credible enough first-hand participants eventually come forward, and corroborate various tellings. You know, the usual.
What I can't get is anyone thinking they'd be able to successfully dislodge Trump, at this stage.
I can't see it, and doubt Cruz is deluded in that way. I also seriously doubt that he'd prefer the Democrats to win, over ANY republican candidate.
We'll see, soon enough. If an endorsement comes from Cruz only after Trump more officially secures the nomination -- then at that time he'll have fulfilled any commitment he would have(?) made to support the GOP nominee for election to office of POTUS.
