The people who live near the border should not have a particularly large voice in this debate. A secure border serves a national interest, not a local one. We, as a country, should not be overly concerned about what border area residents think of this policy.

I do think it good to hear out US citizens living near the border, as they may have good ideas or concerns to be considered as the USA goes ahead with the plan and builds
