My husband has cousins in CA. One of them used to call us in August tell tell us “the weather is here, wish you were beautiful”.

August in Texas is brutal and they loved to laugh about it.

I attended a music festival in Modesto, CA once, called the X-fest, where a Texas band called Fastball was among the performers. This was one of those music festivals where they close off a few square blocks of downtown and have stages at each intersection. Also, if you're not familiar with Modesto or the Central Valley in general, let's just say it gets hot there in the summer. Some times really really hot.

Anyway, this particular day was brutally hot, probably somewhere between 105-110 degrees in the shade, no breeze at all, and significant humidity. Fastball had to play a set midday, sun blazing, no clouds, and it was so hot that the crowd was sparse, as everybody was seeking AC and this was an outdoor concert. Fastball played a couple of songs, then the lead singer wiped his brow, took a deep breath, looked out at the crowd and said "Damn. It doesn't even get this hot in Texas! Y'all are some hearty people!" I felt a little bad for them. We got up during their next song and headed indoors, heh.

LOL! I know parts of CA get hot this cousin lives up near San Fran.

Humidity changes things. My husband raises rodeo bulls and he was at a bull riding event in east Texas near the Gulf of Mexico. It was mid winter, misting rain and 33 degrees. A couple of Montana Cowboys told him they had never been so cold in their lives. ; )

I would love to move my business to California. I loved where I grew up (South Lake Tahoe). It’s a beautiful state. BUT, it is business suicide to even contemplate the move.

Why not just live (and have your business) on the Nevada side?

Ever looked at the price of industrial space at Incline or anywhere else on the Nevada side?
