China strikes and protests up 20%

Friday, July 15, 2016

Strikes and protests in China during the first half of 2016 rose almost 20% compared to a year earlier as an early boom in construction-sector unrest gave way to sustained growth in collective action by workers in transportation, the Financial Times reports. In June, China saw 169 strikes nationwide, down about 5% year on year, according to figures provided by China Labour Bulletin’s strike map. But it saw a total of 1,456 strikes and protests as of end-June, up 19% from the first half of 2015, according to the Financial Times. The biggest boost in absolute terms has come from construction workers, who in January helped push total incidents to a record monthly high of 503.

All they have to do is invade Taiwan. That will turn the people around. Remember the Falklands?

Well, the US has been provoking both China and Russia to war in recent months.

If the economy goes south in China and/or significant worker unrest, President Xi may well take obama up as he increases tensions in the S. China Sea.

All politicians, it seems, resort to war when they’re about to lose support from the people. I reckon that Xi is no different.

Falklands was a gamble and the gambler lost. England did in fact head over there.

Attacking Taiwan means war with us.

A 2 cent South American counry is a lot different than one of the strongest militaries in the world.

And England isn’t the United States.

China is catching up but is not close to being able to defeat our navy and air force. And they know it.

Strikes over economic issues are tolerated. Political dissent not so much.
