We are in the early stages of a Social War.
“Maybe more citizens need to arm up to help protect the cops. Or is that what they want to further escalate the violence.”
I, like you, am ex-Navy. Although I left the Navy 50 years and three months ago, I have never felt like a ‘civilian’ because, in my heart, I was/am and always will be Navy. You know the old saying, “Once a Marine, always a Marine.” I am sure that many other vets feel the same way regardless of which uniform they wore.
I feel that at some point we ‘civilians’ are going to have to help protect all law-abiding citizens.....not only the police.
Disgusting. Bill Kristol uses the tragedy to push for an “independent” to run against Trump? Screw this guy.
You won’t need a bulldozer for that, a daisy cutter would do the trick though.
Quite plausible. I have thought of the same scenario myself.
“And THIS is why the other Minneapolis scumbag wrote BR in blood as he was dying.
Wow! Can you clarify/elaborate...I have not heard about this.”
I think that gaijin was referring to the Dallas shooter, not the MN situation.
Cop killings escalate.
Do the math.
Not “BR,” it was “RB.”
***Back in Nixons day,***
Back in the pre-1960s, if such a thing happened, a section of the city would be burned down, and the next morning (comment censored before the mods see it) from lamp posts and trees. But then it would be safe to walk the streets again for years.
Sadly the innocent are caught up with the guilty in such matters.
Hopefully our military leaders will refuse Obama's orders to enforce martial law.
It will.
LOL! I left the Navy 46 years ago and I still hold the oath to be what it said. No picking parts of the Constitution I like and setting aside others that I don’t like. Sounds like you were getting out when I was getting in. Maybe I took your place. :)
I would support our active and retired special forces guys’ involvement in law enforcement “activities.”
“Wouldnt do any good. They all live in housing paid for by you and I.”
Still not a problem. Bulldoze the whole thing and tell the rest that the reason they no longer have homes is because (insert name) chose wrong and caused it. Let them take care of that little bit of justice.
Manhunt and riot
On July 24 a crowd of whites gathered on Fourth Street, where the policemen were killed. There were shouts for lynching Charles, but the crowds dispersed when they were falsely told Charles had been located and jailed. On July 25, Acting Mayor Mehle (Mayor Paul Capdevielle was out of town) announced a $250 reward for the arrest of Charles while issuing a proclamation urging peace. New Orleans papers, particularly the Times-Democrat, blamed the black community for Charles’ crimes and calling for action.
In the following days, several riots occurred as mobs of armed whites roamed the streets. On the night of the 25th they killed three blacks and wounded six more so severely they had to be hospitalized. Five whites were also hospitalized, and more than 50 people suffered lesser injuries. Charles had taken refuge at 1208 Saratoga Street, where he remained safe from the police until Friday, July 27.
The house was quickly surrounded by police after they learned that Charles was there. Throughout the day, the police fired on the house, where Charles sporadically returned the fire. By the end of the day, Charles had shot a total of 27 white people in the course of the week, seven fatally; four were policemen.
The police decided to burn down the building to flush out Charles. As he tried to escape, he was shot by Charles A. Noiret, a medical student and member of the special police (a militia police group of volunteer citizens). The policemen continued to shoot Charles. When they dragged his body outside, a mob of bystanders beat his body.

Running down someone walking on major highway should be a misdemeanor. Punishable by a small fine
I was in the Submarine Force. However, that does not negate the idea that you replaced me. ;-)
