I think nobody in Spain cared about golf until Seve came along, then they started producing good golfers. Perhaps Molinari’s win will do the same in Italy. I bet they could have some really pretty courses there.
They do have nice courses. When I came to Sicily in 2008 there were two courses on the island. Now there are a dozen, a couple of them PGA level. And more being built. But golf is very much a rich man’s game in Italy.
