The number of voters both sides fight over is small.
Outcome will be decided by five or six million swing votes.
Those were the difference in the two Obama victories in 2008 and 2012.
Only the state by state polls count, because that is how the votes are tallied.

The Dems have been running an anti-Trump ad constantly in the Pittsburgh marketplace about Trump mocking people with disabilities. Based on past experience in this state, the Dems ran ads against the sitting Republican governor for at least a full year before the election, same series of negative ads and the constant barrage was not countered by the Republicans, and Democratic Governor Wolf, Obama’s surrogate, won. If the Republicans want to lose Pennsylvania, let this ad continue unanswered. Running in the evening news slot on my local news station.

Regarding oversampling - I’m aware of it. I’m also aware there were about 5000 posts on FreeRepublic in 2012 claiming the same thing, but Romney still underperformed almost every poll.
