EAST LOTHIAN, SCOTLANDThe East Lothian Courier reports that the foundations of a large Anglo-Saxon building dated to about 1,200 years ago have been found in a field in Aberlady, a stop on a Christian pilgrimage route located on Scotlands eastern coast. Archaeologists from AOC Archaeology Group and a team of volunteers began looking for the remains of a Anglo-Saxon timber halls after a large concentration of metal artifacts was discovered in the field. It may have been monastic, or a feast hall or a royal site, said Ian Malcolm of the Aberlady Conservation and History Society. There have been other excavations but no evidence of a structure on this scale has been discovered.

Anglo-Saxon?!?!? Obviously it was a bastion of racism!
What is South east Scotland used to be the ancient kingdoms of Deira and Bernicia, which were Anglo-Saxon (specifically Angle rather than Saxon). Look at the principle city. Edinburgh...Edin-burgh or Odin-burgh...literally Odin’s town.
How large is ‘large’. I didn’t see any dimensions when I clicked through.
Odin-burgh, very interesting. Thanks for that tidbit. Odin was claimed by most Angle and Scandanavian dynasties as founder, IIRC.
Scotland...
It’s a pub.
"We speak f*****' ENGLISH, here"
Racist propaganda. I keep hearing that Africans conquered the entire planet before Anglo Saxons stole their magical juju.
The original settlement of Europe by humans is the first known instance of “white flight”.
England has to be about the most bastardized piece of land on the face of this earth.
The source of dozens of cultural conquests, reconquests, genocide, and subjugation over it’s documented 2500 year history. That might also be why it’s culture and society is one of the best in the world - if not the best.
So 131 feet x 65 feet roughly.
hahahahaa!!
Not only didn't the first link ignore the dimensions, so did the link at the end of that article.
"Journalists" and "writers" these days are often oblivious. It is a regular occurrence that something mentioned in the headline is not covered well, or not at all, in the article. (Yes, I know sometimes headlines are written by other people, but common sense would expect a little consultation.) At least this article had a picture of some stones. Some articles that are screaming for a picture don't have one.
Thanks to "ameribbean expat" for tracking down the info.
It shouldn't be OUR job to look up the details the author left out. Of course, some helpful freeper will respond, "google is your friend." No, google is evil.
I ask women the same question just before they walk away.
Thanks.
I don’t think most papers bother with copy editors any more. They rely on software, but a decent desk man could keep a writer - and a paper - from embarrassing itself.
Sounds like a job for the Time Team.
