It all depends on who takes up residence in the palace. Could be like Libya, who’d have ever thought we one day look back fondly on Khadaffi’s rule? We’ll see.

He is Muslim Brotherhood, so it is good he has been removed. The military is much more pro-West.

I doubt that Obama even knows what to think.

Especially Obama!

Thanks, just walked in and my son called and told me. I told them to stay home and don’t go out anywhere. He just got there last night...timing....discussed anti-terror measures, didn’t think to cover martial law issues....

Didn’t Erdogan already purge all the secular Kemalists from the ranks?

I’m a pessimist, I prefer to delay happiness and avoid let down. For right now it’s an interesting development. It certainly messes with the Syria situation. Watch what happens to American businesses in the area, that’ll tell us who is in charge.

They have Nukes. Instability in any country that has Nukes is bad.

“I smell Putin behind this too.”

Could very well be. There is no love lost between Putin and Erdogan, is there. I think Trump and Putin indeed may have much more of a confluence of interests than that of our current President whose interests coincide with those of Erdogan who it appears is no more (assuming the Coup succeeds, and I am praying that it does).

Erdogan sucks, but there’s a 612% chance that whoever overthrows him will also suck.

Erdogan is religious. It's much more likely that military rule will be a major improvement. You don't want democracy if the people are religious. It just leads to sharia.
