SIERRA VISTA — A Sunsites man has been sentenced to nearly a millennium behind bars following his trial and conviction on multiple counts of sex crimes involving children.
Romiro Preciado, 32, was sentenced on Tuesday in Cochise County Superior Court to nine consecutive life sentences, totaling 909 years in prison, after a trial during which he was convicted of nine counts of sexual misconduct with a minor and three counts of child endangerment, according to the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office.
The investigation dates back more than a year ago, when sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of domestic violence in Sunsites on Feb. 17, 2015. The 10-year-old caller reported that her parents were arguing because the father had been sexually abusing their children.
It’s not like he will serve the full 900 years, he will be eligible for parole in 2566.

When “2525” hit top 10 in summer 1969 I was at Fort Bragg training for Vietnam. Our only place of respite was the PX snackbar where this was playing on the jukebox every time I went there. Forced memorization. So very far away, maybe it’s only yesterday.
