Levin was praising the Pence choice. Don’t know if that is a good thing. Now I see reports about connections to Koch’s, support of TPP, and other things that are making me question him.

Plus, after last night’s events, we need someone tough and capable to take over if necessary.

I also noticed Cruz and Kasich dropped out after Indiana (deal made with Pence then)?

LOL! Can we even confirm that he will be the final pick after the ‘tragic incident’ in Nice, France yesterday? Which has been condemned in the STRONGEST possible terms. Boot shaken rhetoric.

It depends on what you mean by Establishment. He is generally conservative and principled in his conservatism. He does cooperate with the Establishment, but he also garnered the support of the Tea Party and embraced it. His record as a congressman is pretty solid, and he had the right enemies.

I don’t like that Pence came out against halting Muslim immigration...even if he wouldn’t be in a position to influence it that much as VP. Other than that I’m not sure what I think about him v. Newt.

If everything was equal I’d got for Newt.

He can’t be establishment if Mark Levin endorsed him - and he did.

I’m voting for the guy at the top of the ticket not the guy at #2. Yes, I understand everyone’s concern if Trump’s VP candidate has connections with the globalist and RINO sectors of the GOP, but we’re talking about Donald Trump here. Do you really think he will pick someone he doesn’t think he can trust? Also, are we taking it for granted that Pence is even the pick? Let’s wait and see who Trump eventually picks before some of you go over the deep end. Even if it’s Pence he’s still a better pick than Newt, Christie, or General Flynn. He doesn’t have their baggage.

Well, he did run against Boehner for Speaker because he didn't think JB would lead from a conservative standpoint.

As a historian, I would suggest that there were only two VP picks that in any way affected elections since WW II:

1) LBJ, who stole Texas for JFK.

2) Geraldine Ferraro, who had the “distinction” of being the first woman. She didn’t change the votes, but it did, by definition, change history.

I think for every vote Palin got for McCain, she probably lost one of the independents that might have voted for him. Not her fault, but that’s how the media spun her comments and made her look.
