5 Reasons the US Military Is in Trouble
Daily Signal ^ | July 12, 2016 | Justin Johnson

At a time when threats against America are growing, the U.S. military is facing a combat readiness crisis that jeopardizes its ability to protect the country. House Armed Services Committee Chairman Mac Thornberry, R-Texas, discussed this problem recently at The Heritage Foundation.

Thornberry explained that this readiness shortfall has occurred as a result of “budget cuts coupled with deployments, at a pace and a number that have not really declined very much.”

Thornberry outlined five alarming facts caused by the readiness crisis:

It's all about making money for the connected.

Once the planes are paid for, they have served their purpose.

resume the draft,

What are you going to do with the draftees?

There are 1.3 million active members of the US military.

Every year 3 million people graduate from high school.

If we go with the standard two years of service we get an active military of seven million. But if you are going to train 3 million new people every year you are going to need to expand our training facilities.

Currently we are training about 180,000 a year. So we will need the ability to train 15 times that number.

So add in another million to do the training.

And that is just the start.

The draft is actually an awful idea unless you need a large number of warm bodies very fast.

Within the first 2 years of a Hillary presidency all top brass would be LGBTQXYZWTF. 80% of the military budget will go to LGBTQXYZWTF surgery and treatment. Any alpha male warrior will be discharged for not supporting the “revolution.”

The Greatest Generation troops fighting WWII averaged an 8th grade education and most of them entered service due to the draft. They did ok.

WWII - "They did ok."

And a lot paid with their lives being (just) ok (meaning lack of time to prepare for combat and be properly equipped, not lack of intelligence or bravery, IMO).

Nobody really cares.

A small percentage do, but most Americans don't. Even many Freepers cheered as the military budget was being slashed again, and again, and again. Then came Sequestration - which took 50% of all cuts directly from the military's Operations and Maintenance (O&M) budget.

Today, fighters can't fly and ships cannot sail unless they cannibalize parts.

The Republicans all went along with this rape of the military, and even demanded the Sequestration cuts continue!

The US military performed admirably, with its men and women giving enormous sacrifices - especially in the wake of September 11th. We beat radical Islam around the world, and had them hunkered down in holes.

Then came Barry Soetoro Hussein.

The homosexual policies, feminist policies, and witch hunts against normal heterosexual males have destroyed morale, unit cohesion, and (combined with massive budget cuts) operational capability.

War will come, it always does. And the United States is woefully unprepared.

Yes, Obama is the most destructive "president" in US history.

The Republicans in Congress, however, share much of the blame for the decline of the US military. Not only did they vote to support Obama's cuts in 2010 and 2012 that ripped the defense budgets, but then they "negotiated" Sequestration in 2013 as part of the Budget Control Act. That was on top of the cuts already enacted, and lasts 10 years. Those cuts were deep and painful, and basically destroyed US military readiness.

A few Republicans tried to stop the madness, but they were mostly ignored.

I was lucky, my specialty was SHORAD (Short Range Air Defense), Chaparral/Vulcan. Women weren't allowed in those units, as the most common mission was providing support to infantry and armored divisions.

We didn't have to worry about PC, either. When an officer or NCO at Battalion HQ's celebrated a birthday, the Colonel's secretary ordered an anatomically correct birthday cake, complete with a strategically placed cherry.

Really? That’s a Clinton Administration type arguement. Draft to the extent necessary, not beyond what is required. Not everybody gets drafted, never did, but let’s give the next generation of Romney boys a chance to serve.

To me:

Military-industrial complex: eats excessive $$$$$$ on complex hardware.

Progressive politics: anti-win, pro-queer/female, gunphobic, muzzie-enabling.

Poor moral: PC-policed, low supplies, low support, low pay.

Poor leadership: Political, PC, fearful, weak.

VA: corrupt leaders, wastes money, ignores sick Vets, low support.

Never Again is here and now. The sheeple are addicted to their tech devices; clueless mind-numbed robots. Meanwhile evil is on the march here and all over the world. Hitler came to power and the world ignored the threat.

Our military veterans and active-duty are exhausted and tired of being used. When the feces hits the fan, it is your family members and adult sons and daughters who will be called to serve and perhaps even YOU.

The November election will decide our fate. It is up to each of us to convince as many as possible to vote against the evil that is the RAT party and expose the self-serving, power-hungry GOP Elites.

This election is very simple:

Trump: Good

Clinton: Evil

Trump: Save America and her people

Clinton: Destroy America and her people

As usual, you are spot on, SkyPilot.

Hitlery would use what is left of the US Military to further and protect the Globalist Agenda. Our military is being used for our destruction.

The sheeple are addicted to their tech devices; clueless mind-numbed robots.

You are SO right about that. One can't even enjoy a social visit without all the participants (except me!) texting, tweeting, face-booking, googling, or whatever.

One can't make a statement without being fact-checked online, usually to a leftist website that disagrees, debunks, or humiliates your humble opinion.

It is disgusting that one can't even express a thought without being cross-checked by snopes or the latest spew from twitter.

I am doing my bit and TRYING to speak Truth, but it becomes increasingly difficult when people prefer the company of a 3" device to real human interaction. (sigh)
