“It’s not 1998 anymore. Exactly what does Windows do that Linux doesn’t? “

Work without having to go to an online forum and find out you have to type in a mountain of commands to access repositories to MAYBE get that printer of yours to work or to actually use that graphics hardware properly.

Rather than accepting the Microsoft “upgrade offer” to 10, I installed Ubuntu last year on half of my hard drive for a dual boot system and am very pleased with the result. Ubuntu is much faster (on the same machine) and it works flawlessly. There is plenty of excellent free software and, from within Ubuntu, I can see and open all of my Windows files on the other side of the drive partition.

Hmmm- plugged my printer in, linux saw it fine- everything works as it should without having to do anything-

Yes some things are difficult in linux- however, it’s become pretty easy for most things as long a stuff is supported- click and go really- linux supports many printers now without having to fiddle with settings or repositories- older printers might have problems- but printers are cheap these days- get a new one, plug it in, bingo set to go-
