Alabama Sen. Jeff Sessions and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich -- two other top candidates for the veep position -- were also spotted heading to Indianapolis Wednesday.

According to CNN, Gingrich is meeting with Trump Wednesday at the ex-speaker's request.

And Sessions, the first senator to endorse Trump, told CNN of a possible Trump gathering: "We'll have a visit, I think."

According to a New York Times report, the sudden flurry of activity from VP contenders to Indiana could be due to mechanical problems from Trump's plane, which prevented the candidate from flying back to his home base in New York City...

Again, why is Trump spending time in IN?

He’s going to win it in November.

I heard TRUMP was making the announcement on Friday evening...so wherever that venue is someone needs to check charter aircraft like they did with Sarah Palin...who is flying in from Alabama, Indiana, New Jersey or Virginia...I think that’s where Newt moved...anyhows should be a really great show!

I’m inclined to support Mike Pence. A strong conservative who supported Ted Cruz and has Congressional and executive experience.

Michael Flynn would do more harm than good and Newt Gingrich, for all his intelligence, has too much baggage. Jeff Sessions would be a good choice in many ways, but some careless remarks he made during the 1970’s could cause problems.

Greta’s just now: a hint/rumor that Chris Christie has Mr. trump’s heart.

(Words to that effect.)

“Again, why is Trump spending time in IN?”
Article says he’s having new gold headers put on his jet.
Or something.

Just saw something similar at CNN: "Trump's gut is Christie," one source said. The New Jersey governor was spending the day in back-to-back meetings in Washington as he leads Trump's transition team..."

Sessions:

Loyal to Trump
Respected Senator
Not part of GOPe
Knows how Washington works
Shares Trumps views on many issues
Southerner
Experience

Committees: Judiciary, Armed Services, Budget, Environment and Public Works.

I think he covers lots of things that will insulate Trump’s weaknesses.
I think he could run circles around Hillary in a debate.

In Trump’s interview with Brett Baier, he basically said Christie’s out.

My bet is Sessions and Gingrich are going to Indiana to discuss with Trump Pence as Trump’s VP choice. I see Newt as Chief of Staff and Sessions running Homeland Security and construction of “The Wall.”

It seems to be down to 5

My ranking

1)Sessions, he’s old, I don’t care, having a Crown Prince for a potential succession in 2024 is not a prime concern
2)Pence, not super great but so much better than the alternatives below him, a safe choice that at the very least doesn’t hurt anything

3)Lard Boy CC, Please no
4)Newt, Please no, merciful Lord.

5)Democrat Flynn, I’d urge the convention to reject Flynn, McCain was told Lieberman would be rejected

Manafort is urging Pence and Ivanka is urging Newt, allegedly. Some dweeb pollster is urging Trump to alienate conservatives and go with Flynn.

It sounds like it will most likely be Pence, if not him, Newt.
