Ted Cruz to meet with secretive conservative group in Cleveland

CLEVELAND — Ted Cruz is making an extra trip to Cleveland to address a closed-door meeting of influential conservative leaders this Friday ahead of the Republican National Convention, according to four people familiar with his plans.

Cruz will speak to a gathering of the Council for National Policy, a secretive group of conservative activists, many of whom backed the Texas senator in his failed presidential bid earlier this year.

The Council for National Policy is a nonprofit but some of its members, including CNP President Tony Perkins, who also serves as head of the Family Research Council, are part of a subgroup that had voted to endorse Cruz in hopes of uniting the conservative movement behind a single candidate in 2016, rather than splintering as it had in 2008 and 2012.

This is JR's site.

His rules are the one we all must follow here.

He is against TRASHING Trump and/or his supporters here.

If you refuse to comply, you don't belong here and FWIW....won't be here much longer, if you keep this crap up.

Or maybe he hitched a ride...and saved the taxpayers a couple hundred bucks.

Not likely, unless the CRF or Goldman Sachs told him to.

What is this “us” stuff, speaking of “conservatives”.

You support a globalist. Nothing about that agenda is conservative. It’s got to be hard to be a dupe.

The Bush family are the ones who started the evil in this nation. They are as corrupt or more so than the Clintons. The people they are comfortable with, are too.

They don’t want to admit they were wrong. You could see from a mike away, long before the primaries started that Cruz was a plant by the establishment. The establishment understand now that when Trump comes in, they are out for good. Evil, horrible people.

Ted Cruz is undoubtedly a part of the GOPe establishment, because the Dems play him, and thanks to this photo, he will never be able to run for president again.

So Cruz is meeting a SECRET society to plan for ????

WoW! I wonder if they all know the proper secret handshake and babble? Has Cruz turned in his stun beeber before going in there? Do they have to strip naked and have probing to see if recording objects are up there and hanging from their privates?

I have this warm and fuzzy feeling that it’s all about helping Trump win the election...isn’t it? Well? Isn’t it?

He was intelligent and brilliant enough to fool me and lots of others for years, but you are right, he showed his true self during the election process. He is indeed all of the things you said, and even more.

However, if you look up the word Machiavellian, it is defined as follows: cunning, scheming, and unscrupulous, especially in politics or in advancing one's career.

To me, that describes Cruz to a tee.

“NerverTrump? Check out comment history.”

So what does NeverTrump? and check comment history mean?

I truly don’t understand Cruz ppl who still can’t see he’s one of them. This isn’t a slam; it’s truly a statement based on my personal observations of personal acquaintances and friends who would agree with everything you just said. There’s just so much evidence out there, I don’t understand how perfectly good, normally sane ppl like my (mainly) Christian, church-going friends cannot look at all the evidence w/o seeing the game Ted Cruz is playing.

If anyone would like to explain this to me by freepmail, please do. I’m not interested in Cruz-bashing, especially in public. Although I do get exasperated sometimes.

One more thing, for anyone who cares to think about it: What would Cruz have to do to make you think one of the two:

“Hmmm... Maybe this guy really is delusional about being King of the 7 Mountains like his father told him his entire life.” Or,

“Hmmm... Maybe this guy really is a globalist hiding behind his Bible and using it as a prop.”

Sincere question. I’m not trying to instigate, whigh is why I prefer freepmail.

If Ted leads a silent/open revolt at the convention, would that be enough? The Quin. Poll today has Trump leading Hillary in key states, so it’s not like Trump is sure to lose in Nov and Cruz is just trying to “save us from ourselves.” There is truly something unstable about this man.

Yes and I remember that early on Rush was just gushing about Politico. He was referencing them all the time as if they were the latest conservative web site. LOL, what a fool.

<< Either way, I don’t want him back in Texas. >>

He’s probably our Senator illegally because he can’t prove his mother hadn’t given up her US citizenship to get Canadian health care to pay for his birth.

Months ago I read where a Texas official publicly requested for proof of the above to ensure that Ted is eligible to be our Senator, but I’ve never seen follow-up on what happened. My point: expect this to reappear in 2018 when a Tx Dem opponent figures out its a winning campaign issue.

Doesn’t Canada have a Senate? Cruz could run for the Canadian Senate from his native Alberta.

I’ve been trying to find out if the question even ever came up!! Thanks for the info about that. If you happen to come across where you saw that, please ping me.

You’re right...the Dims will use this, without hesitation. Maybe that’s why St Ted was flying high with 0bie....to get some pointers on how to continuously run for office, illegally :)

We need a cRuz contender!!

“That Ted Cruz, the leader of the conservative faction of the GOP”

SAYS WHO? Cruz isn’t the leader of anything.

Cruz is so yesterday...

Yesterday all my troubles seemed so far away.
Now it looks as though they’re here to stay.
Oh, I believe in yesterday.

Suddenly I’m not half the man I used to be.
There’s a shadow hanging over me.
Oh, yesterday came suddenly.

Why they had to go, I don’t know, they wouldn’t stay.
I said something wrong, now I long for yesterday.

Yesterday politics was such an easy game to play.
Now I need a place to hide away.
Oh, I believe in yesterday.

yep
And just yesterday I saw a cruz supporter saying that cruz should be Trump's vp.
Something wrong with people that don't see anything wrong with that picture.

“I really think he’s psychotic....”

Nice euphemism you use. :) Actually, the man is 100% bat-shit crazy. You’ve just got to shake your head.

***************

This Cruz mess is just that a mess and hopefully he's reached his pinnacle as far
as political positions go. It's hard to find factual data on the Cruz family, etc but
apparently they moved to Canada in 67/68 time frame. Cruz was born 12/22/70. According
to what I've read Canadian law required five years residency to get citizenship. Thus
she hadn't been there long enough before Edward was born. But Edward had citizenship
based upon birth location.

She had two children both born outside the USA. One in England and the other in Canada.
