Minneapolis Mayor Betsy Hodges blasted the “jackass remarks” made by the head of the city’s police union on Tuesday, while Police Chief Janeé Harteau issued a more measured response in the wake of four Minneapolis police officers who walked off an off-duty job at a Minnesota Lynx game Saturday.
The officers quit the job before the game over the decision by players to criticize racial profiling and wear pregame warm up jerseys, that said “Black Lives Matter,” but also included the Dallas Police logo.
Minneapolis Police Federation President Bob Kroll said in an interview with the Star Tribune on Monday that he “commended” the officers for leaving their post and predicted other officers would do the same.
He also said only four officers worked the Saturday game because the Lynx are a “pathetic draw.”
In a statement on her Facebook page, Mayor Hodges wrote, “Bob Kroll’s remarks about the Lynx are jackass remarks.”
“Let me be clear: labor leadership inherently does not speak on behalf of management. Bob Kroll sure as hell doesn’t speak for me about the Lynx or about anything else.”

Long past time for the police unions to get involved. Their members are getting shot on the street and the politicians they’ve been contributing to are calling them jackasses for protesting it. That isn’t going to fly.
Unions vote democrat. No matter who they represent.

Note the Star & Tribune paper refuses to allow comments on any of the stories about the gang member or the terrorist group Black Lives Don’t matter (in Chicago they are quiet). They are part of the democrat party narrative that police are criminals,
