Over the weekend, Kimberly-Clark said that the South American nation’s deteriorating economic situation had made “it impossible to continue our business at this time." The company had made a number of hard-to-find staples in Venezuela such as diapers and face tissues.

Tree bark. Peel and wipe.

I had always been told it was the leaves during the summer and then grass during the winter. If you peel the bark off the tree it can kill the tree.

Of course a couple of hundred years ago who cared? Everybody stunk anyway. After that there was always last years Sears Catalog.

These guys have managed to screw up toilet paper. Reflect on that. Toilet paper. They can't make bum-wad. Wow.

You do realize "pulp and paper" is its own degree in chemical engineering, right?

Sean Penn, Harry Belafonte, Danny Glover, Michael Moore, Kevin Spacey, Susan Sarandon, Oliver Stone, and Naomi Campbell are on their way to help no doubt.

But of course!

There’s nothing I enjoy more than educating the benighted masses.

You might be surprised at how hard it is to make TP and how high tech the machines are

Think about running toilet paper rolls at faster than half a mile a minute

I did a search on the Clorox plant they seized in late 2014, about 1-1/2 years ago. There was nothing that I could find since Maduro stole it.

Does anyone know if it is open? If so, is it producing bleach? Have they run it into the ground yet?

Most people don’t realize paper is probably the oldest continuously operating industry in existence. We’ve gotten very good at it, and you’re right; mature industries have to take every technical advantage they can find to stay competitive.
