Delegates are not in free association or members of conscience—they are appointed to serve a specific purpose.
Besides they are released by the rules on the second ballot anyway.
The decision is tortured legal reasoning that has no business being taken seriously.

It’s not the state. It’s the members of the party, who support the specific candidate - except where Trump didn’t participate and secure his guys as delegates...which isn’t enough to matter.
