Ryan to speak at GOP convention

Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) plans to speak during next week’s Republican National Convention in Cleveland, according to a new report.

Ryan’s address will last 10 minutes and focus on the Republican agenda in the House, Politico reported Monday.

An aide to Ryan said the speech will show “the sharp contrast between Republican ideas and four more years of [President] Obama-like progressive policies.” The aide added that Ryan's remarks will also illustrate “the need for conservatives to unite around Republican candidates in advance of a critical election.”

Politico said Ryan’s team finalized his speaking slot last Thursday after Donald Trump met with House GOP lawmakers.

Ryan’s staff spent 10 days discussing the appearance with the Republican National Committee (RNC) and Trump’s presidential campaign, it added.

Ryan said in a new interview published Monday his convention message will focus on rallying Republicans together ahead of the general presidential election.

“I want to talk about our ideas, our solutions and how our party should unite,” he said.

“I really think the way we unite ourselves is we talk about our common principles, and we show how we’re applying them to problems and offering better ideas. And winning an election means you can put that agenda in place."

RINO Ryan may lose his primary.

A recent poll showed him a 43%.
And Nehlen at 32%.

Ryan has lost 30% since Nehlen got in.

“I want to talk about ... how our party should unite,” he said.

How about uniting around the nominee chosen by our party, you dimwit?

RINO Ryan must be getting nervous over Nehlen.

That would be a welcome surprise... and a welcome speech...

I hope at least two member of the Lindsey Graham, Paul Ryan and John McCain backstabber wing of the party will be thrown out of office this year.

This is the way all threads involving Paul Ryan go. There is not a single person here who defends him, no not one.

Even though he hates Trump, Ryan is trying to revitalize, repair and re-shape his image by making a speech for unity because he knows his re-election is in one big heap of trouble in his district.

If this Muslim-loving traitor wants to "unite" the party, he should ask another lying, two-faced, puke to honor his sworn pledge to another Republican.

Yeah, it would. It surprise me if these two would have a field day bashing Trump.

I’ve come to despise his weaselly voice. He just comes across as a kid who’s way out of his depth and trying to front authority.

Except he’s not harmless, like a kid would be.

[Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) plans to speak during next week’s Republican National Convention]

I’m fine with that as long as Paul Nehlen speaks directly AFTER that POS.

It would elevate his campaign by leaps and bounds. IMO.

Ryan has some nerve throwing the progressive word around. What a fraud this guy is.

I don’t trust him. I don’t trust his speech. Also, shouldn’t the presidential nominee be outlining and setting the agenda for congress?

This arrangement smells like three day old fish.

I never said he wasn’t...

Just that he wasn’t dumb enough to throw Trump under the bus at the convention...

I still would not trust Ryan to NOT throw Trump under the bus at the convention.
