Black Lives Matter Was Gaining Ground. Then a Sniper Opened Fire.
The New York Times ^ | July 9, 2016 | Michael Barbaro and Yamiche Alcindor

It felt like a watershed moment for a scattered and still-young civil rights movement.

Inside Black Lives Matter, the national revulsion over videos of police officers shooting to death black men in Minnesota and Louisiana was undeniable proof that the group’s message of outrage and demands for justice had finally broken through.

Even the white governor of Minnesota, Mark Dayton, in a pained public concession, embraced the movement’s central argument. “Would this have happened if those passengers — the driver and the passengers — were white?” he asked. “I don’t think it would’ve.”

Then, in an instant, everything changed.

Black Lives Matter now faces perhaps the biggest crisis in its short history: It is both scrambling to distance itself from an African-American sniper in Dallas who set out to murder white police officers and trying to rebut a chorus of detractors who blame the movement for inspiring his deadly attack....

Remember when U.S. Representative Gabby Giffords was shot and 8 others murdered in Arizona by a Left-wing lunatic?

Who did the New York Times blame?

Sarah someone...

Hillary’s numbers used to go up when she disappeared and shut up. Now they are going down when she talks and down when she doesn’t. Trump is going up now when he is quiet.

I do predict that BLM WILL be called in time a domestic terrorist group. Most likely by White House/Justice Department under a future President Donald J. Trump.

New civil rights movement our ashes. Nothing civil or peaceful about it. Just lying leftist agitation cloaked in phony unrealistic emotional anger fueled mostly by lies from the leftist devils.

A madman gunned down cops in cold blood and the media and our government officials all cheer.

I haven’t seen the Media and Government officials publicly cheer the actual murder of the cops—not even they are that stupid. But, what they did do, is they threw gasoline on the fire & contributed to the climate of hate against cops.

Of course, the people cheering the murders are the BLM crowd and the hard core Leftists that enable them.

First, yes it has happened to white people. More than blacks, in fact. And second, BLM doesn’t want justice or equality for blacks. They want primacy, privilege, and immunity.

“BLM clearly doesn’t care about black on black slaughter.”

Not to mention the black women who get abortion, after abortion, after abortion of their own babies.....I guess that black lives DON’T MATTER when it comes to killing an innocent baby in the womb. Isn’t it ironic how selective the “black lives matter” are, babies in the womb don’t matter.

How much ground must BLM gain in order to be satisfied, and how much ground must they gain for the New York Times to be satisfied??

They relate their plight to the Palestinians and the Palestinians want their racial enemy, the Jews exterminated.

They won’t be happy until whites are systematically oppressed or exterminated.

Soon one of the “reverends” will claim the sniper was a teaparty, pro trump, Reagan republican.

Go read some stories about the shooting.

And they all call it a “peaceful protest”.

If 11 people got shot, how is that “peaceful”?

If this had been a Tea Party rally, every media outlet would say “rally turns violent”.

Yeah - the media and our government is TOTALLY cheering them on. Simply by not condemning.

Concur. But we all know the MSM has a double standard.
