Sources tell NEWS 8 that Dallas Police Headquarters is under a lockdown Saturday afternoon due to a threat that is being 'taken seriously' by police.
The lockdown was put into place shortly after 4 p.m. DPD SWAT has been deployed to headquarters, sources say.

This is odd. Just went to #dallas twitter...there were about 6-7 tweets -mostly media outlets - about the lockdown. I hit refresh and they’re gone.
I’m not on twitter- but visit frequently - is that common?

Its extremely expensive. They probably have at least one channel encrypted, but encrypting everything, very expensive.
Not to mention, police radios getting lost is a regular occurrence. A fully encrypted network would require the re-encrypting of every radio out there.
I’m guessing the threat came from Swiss mountain people, wearing shorts and drinking hot chocolate with tiny little marshmallows that are hard as rocks. Oh, and yodeling.
