I have a very liberal Jewish friend who lives in an upscale area here in So Cal. When his worldview clashes with Reality, which it often does, he flounders as he tries to reconcile the two. He NEVER goes to the common sense/ conservative side for long, though. And I believe he is totally fraught with white guilt. It’s all theoretical - he lives in theory, and drags these high-falutin’ theories around, trying to make them work. They never do.
I told my Jewish liberal friend once, “I judge people by the content of their character, not the color of their skins.” Quoting MLK. He looked at me — “That’s almost impossible to do.” ?????
