NO we can't. Neither on a personal nor a societal level, it seems like.

I had a co-worker once, that for no reason that I could ever figure out, lied about me and stabbed me in the back.

I had never harmed, nor disrespected this person in any way that I knew of, and she never explained her beef with me. Getting rid of me gave her no professional, nor financial advantage.

There must have been some reason, but I can only ascribe it to malice.

I know for a fact that she later tried the same thing on someone else.

How do you get along with someone like that?

You don’t get along with those people. You are polite and you stay away. Humans can be just awful.
