I get why they made up the term I guess, but when was this made? It seems like they say it now like it has always been a word and I know for a fact it was never used even as recently as 5 years ago. That’s what pisses me off they say it so often now as if it is a real word that has always existed.
I think it was coined in 2007 by some academic but I’d guess it took off around 2009 after people thought “we voted in the black guy, that proves we’re not racists”. Ah, you think you’re not a racist because you voted for Obama but you really are a racist because ... microagressions!
